High-flying Hullbridge Sports - one of the Essex Senior League's most in-form sides in this current calendar year - make the trip to Ashton's Stadium on Friday night, as Shane Baptiste's Woodford Town side look to bounce back from last week's defeat at home to Hutton.
Across the two fixtures we played against The Bridge in the 2025/26 campaign, six goals were scored, with each side taking home all three points on opposition soil. In November, a brace from Marko Protic as well as strikes from Malaki Toussaint and David Gokou saw The Woods win 4-0 on the road. In January, when the sides clashed in IG8, second-half goals from Kojo Akpeteng and Leo Clark saw Marc Harrison's side claim the points.
Woods First Team Head Coach, Tucker O'Donoghue, who led the side in the defeat to Hutton last week, said that the affair with Hullbridge will be a 'test of character' as we look to bounce back. There is no doubt that this clash could define a season, with a victory for the visitors taking them into second and five points off the top of the table. Meanwhile for The Woods, victory would mean climbing back into the top half of the table and closer to the play-offs, as we continue to play catchup.
