MATCH PREVIEW | Little Oakley vs Woodford Town

MATCH PREVIEW | Little Oakley vs Woodford Town

Harrison Nathan12 Aug - 08:00

We've taken a look at all the information ahead of our trip to Little Oakley.

There's no rest for the wicked, with Shane Baptiste's side jumping straight back into action following Saturday's 4-0 win over Sporting Bengal United at home. This time, it's a trip up the A12 for one of the longest journeys of the season as we travel to Little Oakley.

The two sides last met in March, with Woodford Town running out 2-0 winners on home soil, thanks to a goal in each half from Marko Protic and Miles Mitchell-Nelson.

The Woods

The visitors to Oakley on Tuesday night are currently enjoying a four-game winning run at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, having dispatched of Hackney Wick, West Essex and Sporting Bengal in the Essex Senior League so far, as well as fending off Colney Heath with a 4-0 victory in the Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round just over a week ago.

On the weekend, Manager Shane Baptiste was once again able to call upon Sam Owusu, who returned from suspension, with Normand Kebi being deemed fit enough for a place on the bench having come off injured seven days prior. The Woods will be hoping that Miles Mitchell-Nelson will be fit enough to play some part after he missed the weekend victory, whilst Dimitri Christou, who returned to the Club this summer after a year away, could be in line for a start after making his second debut from the bench just 72 hours ago.

Our hosts

The Acorns are the only other side in the Essex Senior League with a 100% record at the start of the season - they have taken nine points from a possible nine, with wins against Athletic Newham, Hullbridge Sports and Basildon United.

This will be their second midweek fixture in a row, having played host to an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replay against Baldock Town a week ago, in which they won 1-0.

Match details

Tuesday's clash will take place at Little Oakley's Memorial Ground (CO12 5ED), with kick-off set for 19:45 BST.

Kit colours

The hosts will don their home strip, featuring dark blue and black shirts, and blue shorts and socks. Meanwhile, Woodford will also don their new 2025/26 home kit, which can be purchased here. The kit features yellow shirts with a blue trim, blue shorts and white socks.

Ticket information

Tickets will be available to purchase at the turnstiles, costing £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, with those aged under 16 entering for FREE.
