Just three days after opening the season with a victory, Shane Baptiste's side head over the A406 to take on local rivals West Essex on Tuesday night in their next outing in the Essex Senior League.

When the two sides met in this fixture last season, it was Woodford Town who came away with a pivotal three points in the title race, courtesy of a Nathan Sollosi header just past the hour mark, in what was a tough battle on a cold February Friday night.

The boys in yellow and blue come into this clash off the back of a 3-2 away win at Hackney Wick on the opening day, which saw summer signings Ollie Sotoyinbo and Malaki Toussaint on the scoresheet in a difficult outing, with The Woods playing over forty minutes with ten men.

In that game, fellow summer signings Alex Kozak, Gabriel Ipanga and Aamir Stanford-Daniels also made their debuts, as Woodford battled hard to earn all three points

West Essex fell to defeat as they opened the ESL campaign on Friday night, losing 4-2 at home to Romford.

Tuesday night's clash will take place at West Essex's Wadham Lodge, with kick off set for 19:45 BST.

West Essex will don their usual home colours of white shirts, accompanied by black shorts and socks. Meanwhile, The Woods will once again be wearing their new 2025/26 away shirt, featuring blue shirts and shorts with a white trim and blue socks.
