MATCH PREVIEW | Woodford Town vs Harlow Town - Emirates FA Cup

Harrison Nathan20 Aug - 09:45

We've taken a look at all the information ahead of tonight's FA Cup tie!

The Woods welcome Spartan South Midlands Football League opposition to Ashton's Stadium on Wednesday night for an Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round Replay, with the winner facing a trip to Newmarket Town in the First Qualifying Round.

The two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon, and also saw a pre-season friendly between the two end with the same deadlocked scoreline. Marko Protic equalised for Woodford Town in the dying embers, burying his penalty and sending James Pellin the wrong way in the process, just moments after Joe Dearman had done the same against Manny Agboola in the 95th minute.

The Woods

Shane Baptiste's side are yet to lose a game so far in the 2025/26 campaign, ensuring they have picked up maximum points from four Essex Senior League fixtures, as well as a win in the Extra Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup just over a fortnight ago, alongside Saturday's 1-1 draw.

The boss will be hoping for an improved performance after his side registered just one shot on target at the weekend, and will hope to have Ollie Sotoyinbo available after the forward came off injured in the second half during the reverse fixture.

The Woods have NEVER lost an Emirates FA Cup tie since moving into Ashton's - winning 4-1 and 4-3 against Step Four oppositon in Hertford Town and Bowers and Pistea, respectively.

Our visitors

Harlow have had mixed fortunes at the beginning of their Spartan South Midlands Football League season - their first since returning to Step Five after winning promotion at the end of last season. In the league, they sit around the mid-table area, having won twice and drawn and lost once in their opening four games.

Arguably, The Hawks had the better chances on Saturday afternoon, and could be left to rue those missed opportunities, as well as the fact they conceded so late after taking the lead, if they fail to progress tonight.

Match details

Wednesday night's tie will take place at Ashton's Stadium (IG8 8AA), kicking off at 19:45 BST. Should the scores be level at the end of the ninety minutes, extra time will be required, and possibly penalties, should the match go all the way.

Kit colours

Woodford will wear their traditional home colours, consisting of yellow shirts with a blue trim, blue shorts and white socks, with the visitors wearing red shirts, shorts and socks - the same colours the two sides wore on Saturday.

Tickets are available at the turnstiles; however, we ask fans to please take note of a slight price change for Wednesday night's fixture.
