Shane Baptiste's men return to the field, just days after the victory at Sawbridgeworth Town, as the fixtures continue to come thick and fast at the beginning of our 24/25 season.
The winner of this cup tie will set up a home clash against step four Haringey Borough in the final preliminary round.
The Woods
Since 2020, Woodford Town have only made it past the first stage of the entire competition on two occasions, however, on Saturday afternoon they will be looking to put that torrid run behind them, against a side who they beat by one goal to nil just one week ago, despite ending the league match with nine men.
James Jewers and Mike Agboola were sent off in this fixture in the league last week, but due to administration procedures, they were allowed to play on Tuesday night. However, on Saturday afternoon, the pair will be forced to cheer on their teammates from the sidelines, as they serve their bans.
On Tuesday night at Crofters End, goals in either half from David Gokou and Mike Agboola ensured Woodford beat Sawbridgeworth, and made it two wins from two at the beginning of their Essex Senior League campaign - the first time we have achieved that feat in six years.
Our opposition
Benfleet made their debut last step five of the non-league pyramid just one week ago, and were beaten by us in their first home match at their new Woodside Stadium, this week, they make their debut in the Emirates FA Cup, and we are the opponents once again.
Despite this, they did manage to pick up their first win of the season on Tuesday night, as they beat Ilford in the dramatic fashion, with the scoreline ending 6-3, and the final goal of the game - Benfleet's sixth - was scored from the half way line!
Although they fell just short against us on the opening day, 'Fleet offered a robust performance and will be looking to build on their win under the lights on Tuesday night come three o'clock on Saturday.
