MATCH REPORT | Athletic Newham 3-3 Woodford Town

Harrison Nathan7 Mar - 18:30

A second-half fightback sees us earn a point on the road.

Strikes in the second half from Ruben Bartlett-Antwi - his first for the Club - and Marko Protic saw us comeback from 3-1 down to take a point back to Ashton's, with results elsewhere keeping us just in reach of play-off contention, as we look to end the campaign strongly.

The hosts raced into an early lead, with Emmanuel Oshilaja firing past Martin Arnauchkov after only two minutes, however, a Denzel Effah goal just before the mideay point of the first half saw us net an equaliser. However, on the half-hour mark, and then again three minutes before the break, Oshilaja netted again, compelting his hat-trick and giving Athletic Newham a 3-1 lead heading into half time.

Dissapointment at the break, yet hunger to resuce the situation, saw us begin strongly after the interval. Ruben Bartlett-Antwi scored his first goal since joining The Woods last week, and with twelve minutes to go, substitute Marko Protic dragged us level. No further action saw both sides pick up a point as the spoils were shared at Parsloes Park.

Starting XI: Arnauchkov (GK); Mitchell-Nelson, Kirwan-Meade, Owusu (C); Morley, Hervel, Lusardi, Effah; Ahmed, Bartlett-Antwi, Adelani.
