After a positive start to the campaign, a 4-1 loss on Bank Holiday Monday at The Drive proved to be a wake-up call, with First Team Manager Shane Baptiste labelling the performance as "unacceptable" in his post-match interview.

It was the hosts who got off to a flyer on Monday afternoon, as Christian Gyamfi tapped home from close-range, totally unmarked in the area, after eleven minutes. However, we didn't let that deter us, and just six minutes later, Marko Protic fired us back on level terms. Jibran Ahmed and Protic linked up superbly down the left, with the latter firing a cross into the area, which was cleared, but only as far as our number ten, who slammed a volley into the roof of the net.

Despite our hard work at restoring the deadlocked scoreline, Frenford retook the lead in the 22nd minute, with Gyamfi providing the finish yet again, and despite many missed chances, we found ourselves two behind at the break, with a corner deflecting off Kahlil Kirwan-Meade just three minutes before the interval.

A double change at the break looked like it could pay off as we searched for a way back into the contest, with Ollie Sotoyinbo and James Runham both entering the frame, and the former had a golden opportunity to pull us back into it just past the hour mark. A short back-pass allowed our number nine to burst through on goal, but he was denied by Alexandru in a one-on-one. More pressure from The Woods followed, but it wasn't enough, and deep into stoppage time, substitute Reside Coxi-Sebastiao pulled out a stunner, as he lobbed Sidi Haidara from 40 yards out.
