Shane Baptiste's side made the midweek trip up the M11 to face Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side Harlow Town, as our preparations ahead of the 2026/27 campaign ramp up.
With pre-season well underway and the start date for the Essex Senior League edging ever-closer, a strong Woods side took to the pitch at The Harlow Arena, where an impeccably well-observed minute's silence took place prior to kick off, in memory of 11-year-old George Dennis, who tragically lost his life last week. Everyone at Woodford Town FC sends their deepest condolences to George's family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Once the action got going, it only took The Woods two minutes to break the deadlock, as James Runham followed up an effort and curled the rebound into the top corner. Our good start reaped greater rewards as the half progressed, with Ollie Sotoyinbo notching twice within ten minutes. First, he was teed up by Sam Owusu on the overlap and finished into an empty net, before he made it a brace by reacting quickest to a loose ball and firing home from close range.
Our dominance contuined after the interval, with Marko Protic making it four just before the hour mark, as he broke through on goal, before Trialist B scored a stunning curling effort from 25-yards out to round off the scoring deep into the affair.
Starting XI: Trialist A (GK); Owusu (C), Agboola, Hastings, Steele; Jewers, Runham; Blackford, Protic, Ahmed; Sotoyinbo.
