Similar to Tuesday's 1-1 draw away at Halstead Town, we raced into an early lead as Ollie Sotoyinbo fired us ahead with twelve minutes on the clock. Our number nine was on hand yet again, scoring his eleventh goal of the Essex Senior League campaign in as many games, as he continues his fine start to the season!
However, despite taking an early lead, and having more opportunites to score before the break, we failed to put the game beyond Frenford, and they hit an equaliser early into the second half through Seye Okunola's 52nd-minute effort. The goal allowed the hosts to grow into the game, and they continued to come forward with confidence, before eventually finding the back of the net in the 72nd-minute as Correy Davidson put them ahead.
Frenford, who were in the midst of a six game losing streak, and had not won since the beginning of August, were edging ever closer to finally breaking their run, yet in the 96th-minute, Woods defender Khalil Kirwan-Meade rose highest in the box to head home and secure an incredibly late equaliser, a sucker-punch for the hosts!
Whilst Woodford will be dissapointed at the failure to win, the only positive is that they have avoided defeat, and still remain within touching distance of top spot, which is currently occupied by an unbeaten SOUL Tower Hamlets side.
